Summer Immersion

The ‘Summer English Immersion Program’ offered through inCAP provides students the opportunity to experience the English language and culture in an immersive environment. Students will participate in daily coursework and activities that will expand their knowledge of life as an American, while also improving their language skills in all four modalities: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The curriculum is designed to educate students beyond the traditional classroom by reinforcing their classroom learning experiences through excursions centered on American Culture.

A Typical Day

7:00am

Rise & shine, then eat a hot breakfast!

English Language & Culture Class

Students will participate in English language and culture training in all four modalities (speaking, listening, reading and writing) for an average of 3 hours per day. Each day, they will be immersed in a new topic of study which all coordinate directly with the supplemental cultural excursions.

Topics of study include, but are not limited to:

  • Cultural Events & Entertainment
  • Communications & Social Media
  • Sightseeing & Travel
  • College Life & Preparation

Cultural Excursion or Activity

Not only are students academically stimulated by the various courses offered by the program, they will also get to apply all that they are learning in the classroom as they experience various cultural activities. Excursions are included in the program pricing to ensure that all students are able to participate.

Some examples of cultural excursions are:

  • A weekend in New York City
  • Tours and meetings with various Colleges and Universities in New York State
  • Team Building and Leadership Adventure Camp which includes ropes courses, zip lining, hiking, and other outdoor experiences
  • Visits to museums, a library, theaters, the zoo, the park, and the mall
  • Guest Speaker Seminars in:
    • Cooking
    • Dance
    • Theater
    • Law
    • Multimedia
    • Community Service
    • Interviewing
    • …and many more!

The program will include travel fares, a meal plan, housing, educational supplies necessary to participate in coursework, insurance, and a reserved seat for the student in all cultural excursions, along with any expenses associated with the activities. Individuals have two payment options:
